Avanika knew something was wrong the second she spied his name flash on the screen. It was tempting to ignore the call, but instincts told her she should at least listen to what he has to say.
“Yes?” Her voice was even.
“I need your help, Avni. Come immediately, please.”
“The name is Avanika. What happened?” Judging the desperation in his tone, it was something on the lines she specialized.
“Sorry… Avanika. Please help me. There is a dead body in my house.”
“Whose?” She asked without a change in her tone. She should have been surprised, but she wasn’t.
“I don’t know. I mean, I do. But…”
“But what, Ransh?” She snapped. Despite the situation, Avanika was in no mood to forget and forgive his past mistakes.
He audibly swallowed, “Her face is familiar. I think I saw her two days ago.” Then he added. “At the club.”
Avanika suppressed a curse. It was hardly surprising. He wasn’t the killer type, but anybody could kill when pushed into a corner. And, Ransh was mercurial enough to become a prime suspect.
“Call the police.” She ordered.
“They’ll arrest me! Avanika, I didn’t do anything. Trust me, please. I wasn’t home all night.” He panicked.
Pinching the bridge of her nose, Avanika counted until five. “Ransh, you will need to call the police. Now.”
She picked up the keys from her table and walked to the door. “I’m on my way. If you don’t call them, I’ll have to do it myself.”
After a pause, he mumbled he would do it.
“Good. Don’t touch anything until I come.”
Ransh sighed into the phone, relieved. “Avanika, I’m glad you chose your profession over me.”
She snorted. Becoming a P.I was her only ambition. After years of persistence, Avanika was successful.
As she locked her door she unlocked the car by pressing the key button. She took a drive towards Ransh house.
When Ransh was almost 7 or 9 years old, he was abandoned by his parents as they despised him a lot for not being like as they wished him to be. He loved them so much until they left him all alone in suffering. He was in the care of his uncle. Later when he was 17 years old, he left his uncle’s home and never returned. He got into gambling. He loved it more than anything or anyone.
And as for Avanika, she has a family who supports her throughout life. For now, her family is abroad for business and so she’s alone at her hometown.
As she was driving to Ransh house, there was a sudden thunder along with the lightning. Gradually the rain showed up. The weather threw her back on her past where Ransh and she were happy together.
Those smiles, hugs, cuddlings, and small talks. Their love was more than anything they’ve ever wanted so far. But one day came where they weren’t supposed to be together forever.
He was lying to her from the very start. His love, his every feeling towards her was just an act. Everything was fake. He admitted it.
Her heart shattered into pieces. One drop of water from her dazzling grey eyes fell on her rosy cheeks. She gave him a weak smile and went on chasing her profession. She never dared to look back at him. Though they’re in contact with each other as only friends. Still, she just waits for him to approach her with a good apology and make up everything right as were they then.
Thinking about this made her heart once more slightly weak. She never knew why in the hell she should help him. But in one way or another, she ends up going to him. She couldn’t escape the love he gave her. She wanted it all once more even though knowing that he won’t.
She parked the car in his garage. She knew something wasn’t right here when she noticed the doorknob open. When she entered in cautiously, she caught herself watching the girl that Ransh mentioned, lying down on his couch. She was no other person but her very bestie since her childhood days, Meera. She felt so sad to lose her only one true friend. She remembered Meera saying last week that she would go on to a party. And it seems that Ransh met Meera then.
When Avanika and Ransh were together, she tried her very best to make her friends meet her boyfriend but couldn’t make it as Ransh denied every time with very dull and plain excuses.
Avanika neared the victim and saw low velocity of blood spatter. When she keenly saw the body, she found that the victim was murdered without any hesitation using a weapon sticking into her neck particularly on the left side and pulling it out made the blood spatter. Since its a low velocity, it must be a small but sharp weapon, could be a sharp nail. And the culprit must be right-handed.
She couldn’t find any nail nearby her. She knew that it must be clearly taken away by the culprit.
Once she came to realize that Ransh wasn’t seen anywhere in his home, she walked through his every room. At last when she entered his bedroom. It was pitch dark and so when she intended to switch on the lights, someone hit her hard on her head that she lost her conscious.
When she woke up, she found herself tied up in a room. There were two strangers in front of her. One was speaking to someone through the telephone in a husky voice so that none could hear him. She smelled something effluvium. She turned towards the side where the smell came from and saw the body of her bestie. She pitied Meera’s life.
The door slammed, hearing the sound at once she turned her head towards the door and saw. She never felt like this ever. She was once again broke, no she can’t be broke again as she was shattered. She felt nothing. She just stared.
Watching him, Ransh talk to those strangers free handed made her realize that he took part in this thing. She felt ashamed to come by to help him. Ransh walked to Avanika and smirked as he said to her, “Was it your friend? The one I have done and sleeps on my couch. Don’t get me wrong, I did it only for money. Huh?! . . . Oh! Is it painful? Should be. Never thought you would believe me after all you know. But you proved to me that I’m very good at lying. Farewell then, my lady”.
As he finished with his talking he went away from the room with a bag which holds a lot of money. Avanika clenched her fist so adamantly.
Avanika started to note that strangers, both of them carried a shotgun. But only one of them was left-handed. Another was right-handed but that one doesn’t look like she could manage a girl to murder as she’s thin and surely she isn’t the type to do nearby attacks but can do a long shot perfectly. If they aren’t the one who murdered means then there’s only one extra person here… No! The one who lied to me, the one who sold me out to some two strangers is the one who murdered and it’s you, Ransh. But why?
After knowing this, she fell into a deep depression. Some minutes later she got herself again together and made a vow to herself, ‘No more emotions. Nothing left in me but only the hunger for my works’.
She knew that those strangers work under someone and that someone must be Akash as they had some known tattoo on their back of their neck which is the symbol who works under him. And he is the one who she needs to collect information about for that big lady, who is Sarah.
Sarah, she is the best lady in business. She thinks out of the box and soon she came out known almost half of the world. She is the admiration and role model for most people.
Akash, he is also best known for the business until she, Sarah came up.
At first, there were rumors like they both, Akash and Sarah are a couple but one day it was known that they don’t love each other rather hate each one.
Sarah, however, didn’t give up to Akash even knowing that he’s good in hands of men who would fight for at any time. Once she got beat up, not her directly but through her works. They stole her works and sold out with their name.
And from then she has a huge grudge on Akash. She didn’t leave him that easily. She fought with her own strong efforts than snatching their ideas from them, it seemed silly and childish for her and that’s why she chose a hard path. And because of her efforts, she became proud as well as the best business women have known.
Side by side, the media brought Akash to confront about the stealing works from Sarah. When Sarah heard about this, she sent him a bunch of ‘Aconite flowers’.
Akash ordered the men to take Sarah down in any way they can as he smiled at the Aconite flowers which are meant to be cautious and hatred.
Sarah was almost got hurt. She was near to death but she’s lucky enough to get alive without Akash knowing. She didn’t expose herself to the public instantly, she got her time to heal and get ready by making her guards more power side by side herself too.
The news of her arrival and alive made a viral only after she was seen by the public. And of course, this made Akash have a high pique.
And knowing that Akash would do anything to get her, Sarah down. She planned to know about his weakness. So did she claimed Avanika to this matter. Sarah needed only information about him. Nothing more and if she wanted she could arrange her guards itself to inspect on Akash but that would risk her losing her guards.
And so she came to the conclusion that to use a P.I. She could also make the well versed P.I ones too to work on but she denied to do as they all must have a connection to Akash and there’s chance her plans would fall.
She chose a new face and that’s Avanika.
But Alas! Now Avanika is in danger because of Sarah.
It’s almost midnight. The moon shined so brightly and it looked as if its the most beautiful part of the world. There was a park nearer to Ranh’s house, there was a fountain also. The fountain seemed so gorgeous, the way the water spilled was like as if the crystals falling over. The moon’s reflection on the water was so clear than anything. In the edge of the fountain, there sat a man. He stared at the alluring moon. There was a woman standing behind a tree hiding from him. She had a black flying bird tattoo on her left-hand wrist which means Sarah’s agents. Slowly she took a sniper and looked at her accompanies.
As these things were happening in lightning speed, Sarah too came to know everything and she told her guards to look after Avanika.
Avanika was helped to escape by the recently well-trained guards sent by Sarah from those strangers.
When Avanika was going back to her place through the car sent by Sarah, she saw Akash sitting alone in the edge of the fountain. And the main thing is he was guardless. She hopped of car and walked over him. The moment she neared him, she found that his guards were all dead.
Two drops of tears came out from his brownish eyes and fell on his rough cheeks. He sighed and put down his head to his thighs.
And after then only she noticed that he was shot. She gave out a big sigh and left the place before anyone could spot her. She knew that it’s done by Sarah.
She smiled as she thought that it’s all silly that if any ‘Head’ is killed then there won’t be any more problems. Only then there will be more. Rather than killing, one could find an original solution to the problems.
The brightness was getting higher as the sun rose slowly as she walked in the sidewalk. Another day has already started and there was a new client waiting for her.
